Dr. Sanjeevan Bajaj
Dr. Sanjeevan Bajaj is former CEO of FICCI Quality Forum, a specialized division of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) New Delhi. She worked as a banker for 15 years before moving to management consultancy and won several appreciations for consultancy excellence during this part of her career. She is now playing a leading role in promoting Life Cycle thinking in India and developing locally relevant models for managing environmental and socio-economic impacts of business decisions. Currently Sanjeevan also serves as an independent Director at SAEL, a leading agro-energy company based in North India.
Having set up FICCI’s strategic partnership with the UN Environment hosted Life Cycle Initiative; Sanjeevan co-chaired the Initiative’s Phase 3 flagship on global capability development. During 2012-18, she established FICCI’s leadership position in the LCA/LCM space with a number of initiatives on LCA capacity building in Asia, East Africa, and Latin America/Caribbean. She is a founder member of the Forum for Sustainability through Life Cycle Innovation (FSLCI), a community based non-profit with global membership and was also its first elected President.
Sanjeevan has been active in the academics as well, having taught Strategy courses at a premier business school in New Delhi, led a UNITAR e-learning course on Sustainable Consumption and Production for Asian participants, and is now guest faculty for the Life Cycle Management course at Noida campus of Indian institute of Management, Lucknow. Over the years, she has delivered numerous talks and workshop sessions on integrating Life Cycle Thinking with Business Strategy. She was an invited speaker on Circular Economy topics at forums including a UN General Assembly meeting, Circular Economy Forum of Americas, and several conferences/seminars across India.
Sanjeevan has a doctorate in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. She also holds a Masters in Economics and a degree in Law.
